Shell Lake Art Festival Regatta, July 7

A perfect day for the Art Festival Regatta brought in sailors from Balsam Lake and Cedar Lake and a wide age range from high schoolers, college, several fathers and son teams, an impressive showing from an Iraqi vet (Joel Folstad from Liberty Builders in Shell Lake, first time participant), and some very experienced former sailing instructors,Ted Simpson and Steve Finnigan.

We added many new Sailing Club members at the event as well. Ted and Steve are also going to spread the word to their fellow sailors on Red Cedar Lake for the upcoming races hoping to continually increase the number of participants and the number of classes for the upcoming races. We had reporters from both the Rice Lake Chronotype and Washburn County Register who will be printing articles and helping us promote The Labor Day Regatta, September 1.

New! Check out the video.

Finally a HUGE thank you to our Sailing Club member volunteers:

About Us

Image01

The mission of the Shell Lake Sailing Club is to bring together people that have an interest in sailing on one of Wisconsin's premiere sailing lakes. Our main objectives are to promote the recreational sport of sailing, educate those interested in becoming sailors, sponsor local regattas, and most importantly . . . getting together to socialize and have FUN!
